About Us
The Nicola Valley Search & Rescue Society was incorporated in 2003 after the previous SAR group had disbanded a few years prior. We are a non profit volunteer organization that is part of BCSARA. Members are all volunteers and we fall under the jurisdiction of EMBC as a resource to Police and BCAS as well as other Provincial agencies. Members are trained by EMBC and the Justice Institute as well as in house training
We assist the RCMP, BC Ambulance and Provincial Coroners Service as needed. Our primary service area is the Nicola Valley however we also provide mutual aid to other areas of the province. Our skilled volunteers are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Team members are skilled and provide services in a wide range of areas.
